The goal of the EMM project was to establish outdoor space that bridged the connection of the house to the greater native landscape, while also creating a landscape that would facilitate an indoor / outdoor way of life. The house sits in the middle of acres of piñon juniper forest, but was immediately surrounded by barren land heavily impacted by construction 10 years prior.
LRSI needed to create a strong relationship between the house and the outdoor space immediately around it to correct past construction impacts. The stones used in the hardscape were all site collected.
"Linda designed and installed a beautiful context-sensitive landscape plan using native plants, as well as a hardscape strategy using new and repurposed materials, which transformed my home. Linda's plan provides a water-wise design that flourishes throughout the four Southwest Colorado seasons" - Property Owner
